Radiation Inspections
In the wake of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear plant damage in Japan in March 2011 the Japan Harbor Transportation Authority (JHTA) introduced the requirement for all used vehicles exported from Japan to be tested for radiation levels.
ATL is one of six inspection organisations authorized by the JHTA to provide radiation inspections on vehicles prior to them entering port environs. The inspection measures radiation levels at several points on the vehicle using a calibrated Geiger counter.
All vehicles inspected for radiation by ATL receive a “Radiation Level Certified” sticker on their windscreen and a certificate of the radiation level is available to customers on our website.
